Our Teaching Methods

Introductory ProgramOur Teaching Methods: A Three-Way System of Learning Arthur Murray Dance Center uses a globally recognized system of teaching whereby our students can maximize their learning skills through three different windows of learning.

Private Instruction
First is a private lesson. During your private lessons, you will receive personalized instruction that will help you achieve you goals in dancing. Your instructor will spend the time necessary on technique, styling and general dance improvement. An up-to-date record of everything you have learned will also be kept as part of your instruction. All private lessons are by appointment only.

Group Instruction
Second is a group lesson. These lessons are an important support system to your private instruction. They give you the opportunity to dance with a variety of partners while developing good dance habits and meeting other students in the school. In group lessons we emphasize technique, style and variation of patterns. You may be taught material that your private instructor has not introduced to you yet. Additionally, material that has been introduced will be reviewed & practiced for improvement.

FacebookGroup lessons are held weekly for various levels with a variety of dances taught. Reassuring that you, as a new student to our school, you will be placed in a group class that is appropriate for your present level of dance.

Practice Sessions
Third is practice sessions. We hold scheduled dance practice parties for our students weekly. You will have fun dancing in a relaxed and comfotable party atmosphere. This gives you the opportunity to practice and try-out all of the new dance skills that you have learned in your private and group lessons with a variety of partners before you go out in public.
